Food Blogging & Recipes

Food blogging represents an intricate interweaving of food-lifestyle or gourmet interest mixed with writing and blogging. Most blogs now use images taken by the blogger themselves and some of these blogs focus specifically on food blogging. The blogger in food blogging is usually a person who has a hobby related to food and may also be a professional who likes to share her/his knowledge on food-related topics. Blogging on food has emerged as one of the most popular ways to share information on health, diet, and cooking. The blogger’s audience includes people from around the world who are interested in knowing what they should eat, what they should drink, and how they should cook. These blog readers include people with different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.

For food bloggers, creating recipes that can be shared with their readers is one way of spreading the word about healthy and delicious recipes. This translates into extra sales for the food blogger as well as more readers/subscribers for their blog. The recipes can be posted on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, and StumbleUpon. A blog post on a health blog, for example, may attract several hundred views if it is featured in a social media platform where people are very familiar with health/fitness related topics.

In addition to writing about food and making recipes for it, many food bloggers have started blogs that also serve as a place for social interaction. Some examples of this type of blog are Clean Slate, Fork & Spoon, Go Chow, and Kibble Blog. They allow the reader to leave comments or answer questions posted on the blog. These types of blogs are very similar to social networking sites like MySpace.
